Dopravní psychologie se zaměřuje na výzkum v oblasti dopravní bezpečnosti a mobility. Jedná se především o terénní výzkum, experimentální výzkum v laboratoři a posuzování osobnostních a výkonových faktorů souvisejících s dopravní bezpečností. Hlavními tématy jsou bezpečnost silniční dopravy, drážní doprava, mobilita a udržitelná mobilita nebo aktivní módy dopravy (chůze a jízda na kole).
